TASK
For this task, we were asked to search 3 of our favorite posters and explain briefly about the description of the poster and what the poster expressed.

Design 1
Fig 1.1 https://pin.it/5tBhHlhnC

Description: A Hello Tokyo poster that I found to be quite eye-catching especially due to the colors and the way the girl in the image is in a unique perspective.

This poster expressed : A girl in bright clothing in the middle of a busy Tokyo street captured from a unique perspective. The bright colors (yellows, reds, and greens) that complement each other and help bring a colorful vibe to the poster. Small pictures and writings around the poster can help people know the context of what the poster's main message is. The filter on the poster also brings out a quite vintage look to it which I found very pretty. The poster is very welcoming and brings out some exciting elements that can make people interested in Tokyo.

Design 2
Fig 1.2 https://pin.it/3yRYzBEMD

Description: A poster from the movie ‘Scott Pilgrim VS The World” which is one of my favorite movies

This poster expressed : Just a simple red background with a slight shading to it. The main character (Scott) in the middle playing his bass in a unique pose. The typography for the movie title is really interesting for me because it can showcase the type of music that Scott plays because it is projected from his bass. The white stars near Scott and the shadow that he cast helps fill some of the empty spots. This poster is very simple yet quite unique in its own way.

Design 3
Fig 1.3 https://pin.it/2OofH4aL3

Description: A very old National Geographic poster that showcases a hike or trailing

This poster expressed : It shows a photograph of nature and the people that are trailing or hiking. The dull colors and low quality picture really represents the date that the picture was taken. The yellow colors on the map and the top corners help highlight the date, volume, and the trail the people took. The text also helps explain the location the went and where this image is featured in. I like how in between the dull greens and greys, the red from the coats that the people are wearing helps bring the attention to them.

REFLECTION
I have always loved posters ever since I was a kid. I loved looking at all the different types of posters, from movie posters, music posters, band posters, cartoon posters, from simple to complicated designs. Through this task, I can learn that these posters can have different meanings and purposes. The colors and text can also play a huge role on poster design, especially bright colors, large texts, and the position of the texts. This task helped me understand more about poster designs and how to make the designs eye-catching to the audience.
